January 8 – 14, 1900

Jan 8: 20 above zero in morning. Cloudy all day. Cold air all day. Sleighing thin. Family all well.

Jan 9: 4 above zero in morning. Pleasant all day. Warm in the afternoon. All well.

Jan 10: Warm and raining in the morning, colder at night. I went to Westfield on the train in the afternoon. Snow all gon(e) about Westfield.

Jan 11: 12 above zero in morning. Snowed hard and wind blew all the afternoon. I drew a load of hay for the sheep in the morning. About out now. All well.

Jan 12: 20 above zero in morning. Cloudy. Good sleighing about 4 inches of snow fell. Log teams out again. All well.

Jan 13: 16 above zero in the morning. Cloudy. Good sleighing. Bought 40 bushels of oats of Mary English to feed. Paid 35 cts per Bus. delivered. Family all well.

Jan 14: 20 above zero. Snowed some all day. Father and I went to Harrison Valley to meeting in the Evening.
